SEAMANSHIP

For the past 20 years, building and skippering boats has been not just a career but a passion.

Over these years he has been operating vessels from outboard powered boats, jet boats to large ocean racing yachts, private luxury vessels and commercial cruise vessels, both mono hulls and multi hulls.

Starting his sailing career in dinghies, racing Cherubs and 12 foot skiffs, he stepped into 18 foot skiffs racing onboard Mr Juicy at an elite national level. By the age of 23 years Peter was skippering 60 foot ocean racing yachts and later racing on some of Australia’s fastest sailing multi hulls. Since then he has competed in several Sydney to Hobart, Brisbane to Gladstone, Melbourne to Hobart yacht races as well as many other ocean races. Peter is still competing today in state and national dinghy competitions and many ocean races.

At present Peter acts as a relief captain on a regular basis on large luxury motor yachts including vessels such as "Ophelia V".

This experience and knowledge has been further developed in recent years by successfully and safely delivering vessels from Australia to New Zealand, completing 34 Bass Straight crossings and numerous East Coast deliveries, all without incident. Peter currently operates a variety of vessels including yachts, the latest high speed cataramans and private luxury vessels on a very regular basis as a contract skipper in Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria.
